Stop smoking, start living

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

Imagine yourself stubbing out a cig. You repeatedly make plans to cease smoking, but cannot apply on that thought any sooner. You still puff heavily on that smoke even as you consider how hazardous it gets with every poisonous fume you suck in. You realize you’ll have to quit smoking soon or risk cutting away your life ahead of it expectancy and be left out on future enjoyments just because of a tendency that is merely a self-sustaining vice.

Of course, the best method to enjoy life is to remain healthy and live long; staying away from destructive habits and living life to its maximum. Such a mindset may feel contrary to those who are avid in smoking, but it most likely had its roots through pressure by your contemporaries primarily or, feeling rebellious for one moment, took up the disgusting vice. Such self-destructive conduct never beginning great will correspondingly never end nice.

Everything has been said on how dangerous nicotine is. With components such as arsenic (used in rat poisons), ammonia (used in floor cleaners) and butane (used in lighter fluids), among many others, it is no surprise that many individuals who smoke develop a life-threatening ailment. There are a lot of ads, pieces of advice, studies and journals on such harmful effects, as well as to the trouble it brings to non-smokers who inhale the polluted air. Smoking for that reason not only shortens your life expectancy but also affect virgin lungs in the first place. This puts a double culpability in your hands – giving yourself and non-smokers alike a breath of fresh air

Other than the understandable health benefits, you also will feel a very encouraging emotion of having the power to accomplish a task, in this case, stopping a habitual vice. There will be a better view on your own self and though you have to be in very taxing moments to follow your new convictions, you will surface feeling stronger and more capable.

When you decide to start on the road towards being a non-smoker, take heart on the truth that you have chosen to be the molder of your existence. Annually, millions of money is spent on ads for getting new clients to try on their nicotine products. When the business people get them hooked, they become captive to their desires and start on spending more and more to satisfy their desires. These people, including you as a smoker, are thus controlled into submission by big companies that do not care on the health of its customers. To stop smoking is to strike a crack, however small, on their bad authority.

Always remember that the resolution to be smoke free always lies in you. Determination is critical, but support from family members and friends as well as remembering every day the reasons why you want to stop smoking will tide your long, tiresome journey to a better existence.
