Anti-Wrinkle Creams – The Best Way To Tell the Good From The Bad
Are you trying to reverse getting older by targeting your saggy, wrinkled skin? Me, too! Maybe you want some advice to find the right skin care anti-wrinkle cream. Well, since we’re on the same journey, perhaps I can be useful. The Neutrogena Anti-Oxidant Age Reverse Night Cream is designed to even out skin tone while fighting premature aging caused by sun, stress and environmental pollutants.
Today, I was innocently watching a Halloween classic on the T. V. when, surprisingly, I was struck by a commercial for a skin care anti wrinkle cream. It was for L’Oreal’s Revitalift Cream. So, being a typical multi-tasker ( enthusiastic television watcher / net browser ), I right away started hunting for information on this product and any important user reviews. The results were… Well, rather displeasing.
Like so many similar anti wrinkle creams and lotions that may be conveniently purchased off the shelf at the local drugstore, the feedback on this particular product was less than impressive. One of the reviewers expounded that it does hydrate and improve wrinkle appearance, but has no lifting effect whatsoever .
Another related that it was fully counter-productive, made wrinkle appearance more told and was a total waste of $14.99. On another site, it received a 2.7 out of 5 as an overall rating. Grouses included an overpowering perfume, difficult effects such as stingy eyes and acne breakouts, and the list went on.
Although some of the feedback was good, I don’t know I’d want to take a chance with this kind of product. Aside from the countless grumbles that it was simply not effective, the red flag for me was mention of the odour. Fragrances are typically used in anti-wrinkle lotions and creams.
If you have even the most basic know-how about wrinkle creams, you know that these are frequently used in the production of wrinkle creams because a ) they are cheap and b ) they give the consumer the illusion that they are getting a better product. Unfortunately, this is a devious methodology that manufacturers use to attract patrons.
Further research on my part confirmed my approaching suspicions on this skin care antiwrinkle cream – a low concentration of active ingredients, the presence of perfumes and other harmful ingredients, including benzyl alcohol.
When choosing a skin care anti wrinkle cream, first and foremost, be sure that it does not contain any damaging ingredients e.g. Fragrances, nitrosamines, phenol carbolic acid. Next, look for the share of important ingredients. Many inexpensive OTC creams pick 1 or 2 to brag about, but on reading the 4-pt font on the ingredient label, you’ll discover a particularly low concentration of such ingredients.
This is the reason why they can retail for such an attractively low cost. Ultimately, look for something that is scientifically formulated in such a fashion that all of its ingredients work in synergy with each other, creating the ultimate and most effective product.
